Pockets Full
By: the iHope Poet
If I should live to see the day
When hope is bred
Like thousands of fish under the sea
In every word to say
And thought to think
And deed to live, then
I hope I would fear no longer.
If my pockets should not be
Too full of shy hands,
They’d be open enough
To fit all things good inside them,
Like tools on demand;
Such as confidence,
Faith, and the will to press on.
And I hope I would not waste
Such precious space to contain them.
If I should ever come to know,
To a full understanding, of
What grand things hope may let me achieve;
If I should believe
And open my hands
To catch whatever life throws at me,
Then I hope I would fear
No longer.
