This is hard to face.

From So High Up
By: the iHope Poet

It’s hard to see the distance
In between the clouds and ground,
And I know you're better off
Living up there.
But keep a watchful eye
On all these lives you've left behind
Just don’t forget to look down from the stars.

(Form so high up you’re open
To view my lifelong road
Please whisper to my heart
And guide me home.)

It's nothing. Right?

Rest to Reach
By: the iHope Poet.

I’m so tired
But I just can’t sleep
Some things are meant
To keep my eyes open

Wish that time
Could stop one moment
Give me a chance
To catch my breath

Breaking through
Each wall of solace
Falling down
With little help

Maybe soon
I’ll climb my fate
To reach the sky
On my tip-toes

;)

Things that Shine pt. 2

You do too!

Reach and Return
By: the iHope Poet

You can catch all the stars
And eventually,
Return to the sun.
You are a heavenly being,
(Heaven takes many forms)
So reach for the stars
And back home,
Bring with you each one.

May You Shine
By: the iHope Poet

I want to tell you a story
I’m gonna tell you about me
And if it’s just too heartbreaking
So by the end you are shaking
Perhaps the words were worth saying
Because by now you’re repeating
The lessons I’ve learned and passed on
Take and use them to move on

Please know and remember
That each life is so tender
Every time you forget it
Eventually you’ll regret it
Please keep it in mind
To hold close all that you find.
And use each one to shine.
Oh, may you shine.

I want to tell you a secret
I won’t expect you to keep it
Someday you’ll carry the burdens
That you would never imagine
Others may choose to give up
But I would wish you to stay up
Oh, that you could see
As I do now, that in the end you’ll be happy.

And if you’ve kept it in mind
To take in all that you find
The secret is you will shine
Brighter than the rays
You’ve had to leave behind
And then it will be yours
To choose to keep the light.
Oh, that you would always remain
Oh, may you shine.

Don't FORGET the GOOD STUFF!

How Good You Have It
By: the iHope Poet

You’ll never know how good you have it
Till it’s gone;
And now we’re always ending up that way.
Suppose you’d be more truly blessed
If good things failed to come;
But who would you be if that were the case?

I experience this almost every day.
My worldly cares come first, meanwhile I throw away
What life really means
And all goodness’s worth in between.

So then know how good you have it
Before it leaves;
You won’t be one of those lost on their way
Because of what greed deceives.

Count Them Now
 By: the iHope Poet

Count them this minute before they're lost
it is hard to measure
how dearly they cost.
Prove in your heart that you have all you need
from life's bare necessities
you can plant a seed.
All it takes is  the knowledge of gratitude's weight
then there isn't a limit
to what good you'll create.

"Remind Me of Change" pt. 2

Factors of Fear
By: the iHope Poet

I don’t fear death, but how I’d earn it.
For I won’t deny the life I’ve spent.
I don’t fear tears, but the reason I shed them.
I’ll face a challenge or a test.

I don’t fear taste, but what is flavored.
Poison is hidden very well.
I don’t fear triumph, but the pride I might accomplish.
I’m wary of a head too big to swell.

I do fear hate, and where it spreads to.
I’d like to keep my heart and soul.
Truth is reason, and I fear cheating;
I’ll achieve fair and square, my every goal.

I don’t fear pain, for it empowers goodness.
The bitter-sweetness can enlighten all.
I don’t fear gray, but for its shadow,
And darkness hides my every fall.

I don’t fear words, only what they could mean.
One thought may lead to anything.
I don’t fear notes, but how they sound;
If they’re ugly or beautiful when they sing.

I do fear annoyance and what it feels like.
A little thing can make me snap.
And every breath that I waste breathing
May turn me blind to any trap.

I don’t fear distractions, but where some lead to.
How would I turn if I were lost?
I don’t fear being able, but of what I am able;
Each acted choice could dearly cost.

I don’t fear love, but the heart deceiving;
Perhaps it waits to bind my will.
I don’t fear agency, but which choices I choose from;
Walking a path with potential to kill.

I will always fear how I’ll live tomorrow,
But death will never make me slow.
And every tear I’ll shed most wisely,
I’ll face each challenge wherever I go.

"Remind me of Change" pt. 1

One Step Closer
By: the iHope Poet

Looking back
On all the shards
Of every broken heart
That shattered for
Each bitter disappointment

Now to see
What’s left behind
It’s clear that past decisions
Weren’t always what
They seemed to be at first

Hope and light
Are far away
There’s nothing left to say
To make up for the blackness
That smothers out the love

Then, you thought
It was so right
But all that’s gone tonight
As you begin to plan for
The next few steps to take

It seems hard
But can’t you see
All this has prepared you
Cause now you’re left to face
What one step closer has led you to take

catching Stars chasing Dreams

To Catch a Star
By: the iHope Poet

I want to catch a star
The kind that flies
But won’t go far.
I want to wake up in the morning
Remembering the dream I chased.

Inspiring the courage to conquer
The challenges I face.

I want to cheat my fate
Destiny is something I should make
I’m going to light the spark
And ignite the fire
Within my heart.

I’m going to play my part.

I’d like to reach for faith
To make the leap
That may not be safe.
And in the end if I fall
I’ll get back up and still stand tall.

I’ll understand at least I tried.

So I will climb the wall
And face my fears
Or why try at all?
I’ll get my wish to close my eyes at night
And realize that I know myself.

I want to catch a star
The kind that flies
But won’t go far.
And that will make
All the difference
In the end.

Blinded By...

The Fractured View
By: the iHope Poet

Nothing can last which is already fractured.
The view may be best but is seen as disaster.

So where can I go to feel safe all around,
Where there are no tears or fear in each sound?

How can I notice the beauty in the land,
And how can I feel the warmth from your hand?

Why can’t I learn to just dig through the dirt?
When will I find the gold treasure and not hurt?

What is the difference between wrong and right?
What is the moon when it’s dark every night?

Negativity has clearly blinded me,
So I will need you to help me see

That nothing can last which is already fractured.
If the view is the best then help me see it faster.

Just Do It Now!

One Day is Not a Lifetime
By: the iHope Poet

There will never be a day that lasts a lifetime,
So before the moment when this world falls out of line
We must remember that it’s no use doing nothing.
No matter what, we need to live until we die.

And the better choice
Is to speak with firmer knowledge,
Then the world can learn to grow wiser as well.
It is important to believe,
What you can try you can achieve.
Just keep a steadfast grip on truth
And continue forward.

We will never live a life of constant goodness,
But we can strive to do the things which we know are right;
That we may further spread the love of being able
To move around and serve the children through God’s light.

Yet we all have fears
That bring the tears full-flowing,
And as we fall again
We need to get back up.
It’s not easy but it’s sweet.
A little hard, just not too steep
To climb the mountain ahead,
of everything worth love.

No, there will never be a day that lasts a lifetime.
So should you hesitate to act when duty calls,
Just know tomorrow would be the same as doing nothing.
Now is the time to do your job before you fall.

So yeah, it's hard.

what are you going to do about it?

  Life Isn’t Easy
By: the iHope Poet

It’s so difficult
To live our life
Completely centered on the bad things
On the strife
It’s understandable
If you fall down
Among your enemies
The point is not to frown

This one’s for you
To get back on your feet

Well, grace is beautiful
And so are you
What really matters is you find
What’s good and true
Don’t act hideous
But remain virtuous
Never fail to lift the burden from your shoes

To the sky
Go and fly

Oh, it always seems so hard
To reach that distant goal
With all the snakes and scars
Obscuring the broken road
When every bitter memory keeps you low

Remember today
You are a good soul
Don’t allow the fog
To overcome such a divine role
Though life is difficult
Serve with rectitude
Never let go
Of that one
Winning attitude
